Kellyanne Conway Says Dr. Blasey Ford Was ‘Wrong’ About Kavanaugh, ‘He Wasn’t There!’

On Thursday, Dr. Christine Blasey Ford and nominee to the Supreme Court Judge Brett Kavanaugh each appeared before the Senate Judiciary Committee. The purpose of the hearing was to address Dr. Ford’s allegation that while she and Kavanaugh were in high school, Kavanaugh sexually assaulted her at a party.

Ford testified first and was widely regarded as “exceptionally credible,” as Fox News senior judicial analyst Andrew Napolitano put it. Her testimony was emotional and raw. She appeared uninterested in politics and genuine. She said “I am terrified,” and that came through. After her heart-wrenching testimony detailing the sexual assault, Kavanaugh his opportunity to address the allegations.

Kavanaugh was angry. He raged during the hearing and was belligerent when asked questions by Democrats. He continued to refuse to demand an FBI investigation even when offered ample opportunity to request one to clear his name.

In the wake of the testimony, the Trump administration, along with Congressional Republicans, have rallied behind Kavanaugh. They have been careful not to attack Ford harshly, as Ford’s testimony was seen as credible. Instead, they have chosen to patronize her account, echoing Senator Orrin Hatch’s (R-UT), that Ford was “mistaken.”

White House Counselor Kellyanne Conway was interviewed on CBS This Morning on Friday morning. In her interview, Conway said that Dr. Blasey Ford’s testimony was “very compelling and very sympathetic.” she even said that she had “goosebumps right now” while remembering the testimony. She went on to completely discount Dr. Blasey Ford’s testimony saying that Dr. Blasey Ford was “absolutely” sexually assaulted, she was wrong that Kavanaugh was the perpetrator of the assault. She said, “[Kavanaugh], and the rest of us, mean her no ill will. But he wasn’t there.”

Dr. Blasey Ford said she was “100 percent” certain that she was sexually assaulted by Kavanaugh. Kavanaugh, along with other Republican men in the Senate, has characterized her as confused. For all who watched the hearing on Thursday, Dr. Blasey Ford did not appear remotely confused, however, Republicans are prepared to dismiss her certainly to push Kavanaugh’s nomination through.
