President Trump’s son Don Jr. and his girlfriend, former Fox News personality, Kimberly Guilfoyle, are headed out to campaign for Republican candidates in difficult midterm districts. The couple will stop in Montana on their campaigning adventure to support Republican Republican Senate candidate Matt Rosendale. Rosendale is challenging the Democratic incumbent.
Don Jr. and Guilfoyle planned to host a campaign event and fundraiser for Rosendale at Midtown Tavern in Bozeman. Unfortunately for the couple, Midtown Tavern owners were not aware that the event was a political fundraiser when the event was booked. When they discovered that the event was indeed a political fundraiser, the Tavern owners canceled. The tavern owners explained that they were not interested in hosting a gathering that could cause tension.
Midtown Tavern welcomes all patrons to our neighborhood establishment regardless of demographics or affiliations, including political ones. We welcome everyone.
Josh Palmer owns the Midtown Tavern. He explained, “We strive to be a good community partner that embraces inclusivity and respect, in addition to providing a safe and friendly environment. We host a wide variety of private events. In the most recent instance, the Rosendale fundraiser increased in size and became significantly larger than what we can host and they elected to choose another venue.”
Don Jr. and Guilfoyle were able to secure another venue relatively quickly. Soon after the cancellation, the Rosendale campaign took to Facebook to announce the change of plans. The campaign posted saying, “Due to unprecedented demand, with HUNDREDS of RSVPs in under 24 hours, the location for next week’s RALLY in Bozeman with Donald Trump Jr. and Kimberly Guilfoyle has changed. Come join us at the Gallatin County Fairgrounds as we work together to MAKE AMERICA GREAT AGAIN!!!”
As Don Jr. and Guilfoyle hit the campaign trail, some have speculated that the tour is a precursor to the younger Donald to make a run for office. Guilfoyle has described Don Jr. as “the number one up-and-coming political figure on the right,” adding that he”is the base.”
